Jun 17,2025
China Maintains Status as Africa’s Largest Trading Partner for 16 Consecutive Years. In 2024, China-Africa trade exceeded the 2 trillion yuan mark for the first time. During the first five months of the year, China's total imports and exports with Africa reached 963.21 billion yuan, representing a year-on-year increase of 12.4% and setting a new historical record for the same period.
According to the official release by the organizers, the current edition of the China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo saw the signing of 176 cooperation projects worth USD 11.39 billion, marking a 45.8% increase in the number of signed projects compared to the previous session. As of June 15, the main exhibition hall had attracted over 200,000 visits, doubling the attendance of the last edition. On-site transactions and intended deals are projected to reach 2.5 billion yuan.
2,000㎡ Exhibition Area Featuring the Full Range of Best-Selling Models in Africa
Used Vehicle Export Pavilion Draws Over 40 Leading Enterprises from Across China. The dedicated exhibition area for used vehicle exports attracted participation from more than 40 prominent companies based in Tianjin, Hunan, Guizhou, Shandong, Guangdong, Henan, and other provinces. Spanning over 2,000 square meters, the pavilion showcases a diverse range of popular models in the African market—including SUVs, pickup trucks, and new energy vehicles—designed to meet the varied demands of overseas buyers.
In addition to vehicle manufacturers and exporters, the pavilion also brings together service providers specializing in vehicle inspection, logistics, and after-sales support, creating a one-stop platform that covers the entire export value chain and streamlines the journey to overseas markets.
Africa Emerges as a Key Market for China’s Used Vehicle Exports
“African markets are growing rapidly, but suffer from unstable vehicle supply. This expo allowed us to connect directly with high-quality Chinese suppliers, significantly improving the efficiency of cooperation,” said one African buyer at the event.
In recent years, China’s used vehicle exports have expanded steadily. In 2024, the country exported over 410,000 used vehicles, marking a 49.4% year-on-year increase. With relatively low vehicle ownership and strong demand for cost-effective transportation, African countries have become a prime destination for Chinese used cars. Chinese vehicles are increasingly favored for their outstanding value, comprehensive features, and adaptability to diverse driving conditions.
To further support this growing sector, China has introduced a series of policy initiatives to facilitate used vehicle exports. These include the establishment of designated export bases, streamlined administrative processes, and optimized tax rebate policies—collectively providing a more enabling environment for Chinese enterprises to expand globally.
