June 2025 Automaker and Brand Sales Overview
June’s automotive market data reveals a diverse landscape. BYD led the pack with sales of 382,585 vehicles in June. Its subsidiary, Fangchengbao, saw a remarkable month-on-month increase of 50.1% and a year-on-year surge of 605.3%, demonstrating strong growth momentum. Other major groups and brands also delivered solid performances: SAIC-GM-Wuling sold 126,413 units, up 32.2% year-on-year; Geely Automobile Group sold 236,036 units, up 42.1%; and Chery sold 233,607 units in June, up 13.5% month-on-month. Traditional automakers continue to exert strong market presence.
Among new energy and emerging brands, Leap Motor sold 48,006 vehicles in June, growing 138.6% year-on-year; XPeng delivered 34,611 units, up 224.4%. While some brands experienced rapid growth, others saw fluctuations—for instance, Avita’s sales dropped 20.5% month-on-month and Zhijie declined 50.8%. The overall market remains highly competitive, with varied performance across sales volume, month-on-month, and year-on-year metrics, reflecting the dynamic and diverse nature of the industry.
June 2025 New Energy Vehicle Wholesale Sales
The wholesale sales data for new energy vehicle (NEV) manufacturers in June 2025 has been released. BYD topped the chart with 377,628 units sold, bringing its cumulative sales from January to June to over 2.113 million, demonstrating its dominant market position. Following closely were Geely, Changan, and Tesla China. Geely sold 122,367 units in June, up 107.2% year-on-year; Changan sold 95,380 units, up 8.1% month-on-month. Traditional automakers and emerging players each showcased strengths on the NEV track, with several companies achieving growth in both sales volume and year-over-year comparison.
Looking at segment-specific performance, emerging players such as Leap Motor and XPeng delivered impressive numbers. Leap Motor sold 48,006 units in June, up 117.3% year-on-year; XPeng sold 34,611 units, increasing 210.6%. Meanwhile, some manufacturers experienced fluctuations. Overall, the NEV market remains fiercely competitive, with notable variations in sales, month-on-month, and year-on-year performance among manufacturers, reflecting the industry’s diverse development trends and the dynamic nature of market competition.
June 2025 Emerging Brand Sales
Finally, let’s review the sales data for emerging new energy vehicle brands. Hongmeng Zhixing’s “Four Realms” lineup set a new monthly sales record in June with 52,747 units sold, becoming the top-selling emerging brand for the month. Leap Motor sold 48,006 vehicles in June, up 138.6% year-on-year; XPeng delivered 34,611 units, up 224.4%. Some brands have achieved breakthrough sales through strong product competitiveness and effective market strategies. Meanwhile, month-on-month performance showed variations—for example, Zhijie declined 50.8%, while Xiangjie increased 94.7%, reflecting differing monthly market dynamics across brands.
Looking at cumulative sales from January to June and year-on-year growth, Leap Motor reached 221,664 units, up 155.7%, and XPeng achieved 197,189 units, up 279.0%. These figures demonstrate resilience among emerging brands over the half-year period. However, there is divergence: NIO’s sales declined 61.1% year-on-year, and Li Auto dropped 24.1%, indicating pressure faced by some brands amid market competition. Overall, emerging brands experienced mixed results in June and the first half of 2025, with a dynamic competitive landscape influenced by product iterations and market strategies, reflecting the intense contest within the new energy vehicle sector.
