With current delivery capacity, the Nissan N7’s order wait time has exceeded two months, indicating early signs of market undersupply. The strong sales performance is significant for Dongfeng Nissan, marking a clear breakthrough in China’s EV market strategy.

As one of the earliest joint ventures to explore electric vehicles in China, Dongfeng Nissan has undergone three phases: local production of the Nissan Leaf, cost reduction through badge engineering with Venucia, and launching the next-gen ARIYA EV. The N7’s debut represents the company’s transition to its 4.0 new energy strategy, achieving milestone success after years of steady development—an outcome of persistent innovation rather than chance.

Within just 50 days of launch, Dongfeng Nissan’s dealer network has seen clear benefits. Store leads increased 50% month-over-month, with N7-related customers accounting for 35%-40%, significantly boosting foot traffic. The customer base is notably younger—68% male, with 61% under 35 years old—about 10-15 years younger than traditional combustion engine buyers.

Moreover, 56% are first-time buyers, 40% are replacement purchases, and only 4% are additional buys, indicating the N7 has successfully expanded beyond the existing customer base and made a strong breakthrough in the new energy market.
