As a bestselling SUV in the North American market, the Pathfinder has over 30 years of history. Shortly after the launch of the fifth generation, Nissan officially introduced it to China, naming it "Pathfinder." This model fills the gap in Dongfeng Nissan’s lineup for mid-to-large SUVs, aiming to provide consumers with a practical and comfortable driving experience.
The Dongfeng Nissan Pathfinder is available in 5 different configurations, offering both 6- and 7-seat options, along with various purchasing benefits.
The vehicle adopts Nissan's latest family design language. The front features a large grille with horizontal bars, visually widening the front end. The headlights seamlessly integrate with the grille, creating a strong sense of unity. The front bumper is equipped with narrow air vents on both sides, adding a touch of modernity.
The side profile features multiple character lines, while black wheel arches and wide fender flares enhance its muscular appearance. The two-tone, multi-spoke alloy wheels improve the vehicle’s aerodynamic performance. The rear design is simple yet elegant, with flattened tail lights connected by a black trim, creating a through-type tail light visual effect.
The Dongfeng Nissan Pathfinder is available with two wheel sizes across the entire lineup: the two-wheel-drive version comes with 18-inch dual five-spoke aluminum alloy wheels and 255/60 R18 tires, while the four-wheel-drive version is equipped with 20-inch multi-spoke aluminum alloy wheels and 255/50 R20 tires.
In terms of exterior colors, the Pathfinder offers 4 single-tone options (Pearl White, Obsidian Black, Ocean Blue, and Brown) and 2 two-tone color combinations (Obsidian Black/Pearl White and Obsidian Black/Sunrise Silver). The two-wheel-drive version is limited to single-tone colors, while the four-wheel-drive version offers additional two-tone options for a more personalized touch.
Inside, the Dongfeng Nissan Pathfinder features a popular dual-screen design and retains a significant number of physical buttons, striking a balance between technology and practicality. The seating configuration includes a three-row layout, with both 6-seat and 7-seat options available. The front seats are equipped with heating and ventilation functions, and the second-row seats feature a 10-step adjustable recline angle.
In terms of performance, the entire Pathfinder lineup is powered by a 2.0T four-cylinder turbocharged engine, producing a maximum power output of 185kW, paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission. The engine delivers a maximum horsepower of 252ps and a peak torque of 376Nm, sharing the same powertrain as the Infiniti QX60. To enhance off-road capability, the entire range comes standard with a front limited-slip differential, while some models are also equipped with an on-demand all-wheel-drive system.
The entry-level model of the Dongfeng Nissan Pathfinder is the 2WD Intelligent Version with 7 seats, a mid-to-large SUV primarily designed for family use. It offers a well-balanced configuration, excelling in active safety, driving functions, and seat materials. The model is equipped with cruise control, fabric seats with manual adjustment, ensuring good comfort and ease of operation.
In comparison, the recommended models are the 4WD Intelligent Drive Version with 7 seats and the 4WD Intelligent Drive Version with 6 seats. These models build upon the entry-level version, adding an on-demand 4WD system and a range of premium features, including L2-level driver assistance, roof rails, leather steering wheel and seats, and front seat electric adjustment with heating functions, enhancing comfort and convenience. Consumers can choose between the 7-seat or 6-seat versions according to personal preference.
The top-tier 4WD Intelligent Elite Version with 6 seats is priced higher but includes additional features over the recommended models, such as a hands-free power tailgate, steering wheel heating, a HUD (Head-Up Display), and front seat ventilation.
Considering the overall configuration and value for money, the 4WD Intelligent Drive Version with 7 seats and the 4WD Intelligent Drive Version with 6 seats are highly recommended. Consumers can choose the seat configuration based on their specific needs.
